Giveaway rules

Grand-prize car eligibility

Only Saturday (Aug 1) entries qualify for the grand-prize car. Sunday (Aug 2) entries still win instant prizes, but are not entered into the car draw.

How to enter

Entry is free — no purchase necessary. One entry per person, at the festival grounds in Surrey, BC during Saturday, August 1, 2026 and Sunday, August 2, 2026. Each attendee spins the prize wheel once for an instant prize and, if they enter on Saturday, a place in the car draw.

The car draw

Enter on Saturday to qualify — there is no cutoff time; entry closes and the semi-final is then drawn (TBD — PLACEHOLDER). A set of finalists is selected at random (bonus-ticket holders get extra chances). Finalists must be present at the Sunday final draw (TBD — PLACEHOLDER); they check in at the festival booth beforehand. The car winner is drawn from the checked-in finalists, live on stage. If a drawn finalist is not present, another is drawn immediately. If no finalist is present, a fresh winner is drawn from Saturday’s full pool.

A skill-testing question is not required to claim (organizer decision). Eligibility details still to be confirmed: minimum age (default 19+) BC residency who pays taxes / licensing on the vehicle.

By entering, attendees consent to festival event photography and video, which may be used in event coverage and promotion. The car winner may be asked to appear in winner announcements.

Instant prizes

Every attendee wins an instant prize — a vendor discount or a free item, shown as a code to present at any participating vendor. One instant prize per attendee. Exact prize list: to be confirmed with vendors.

The grand-prize car is provided by Trust Auto Sales. The giveaway is run by Karakata Society in collaboration with Vansuya, as part of Naija Food Festival, BC.
